Ritz Carlton San Diego Project

Ritz Carlton Whole Foods San Diego

On East Village’s Market street between 7th and 8th sits an empty parking lot. This block of land between The Mark Condos and Alta Condos was recently approved for a new mixed use development project that will include 2 high rise towers with 19 and 39 stories respectively. The towers will consist of the Ritz Carlton five star hotel, Whole Foods, apartments, condos and office space.

The $400 million project received approval from the city’s downtown planning agency on July 2016. Construction is expected to begin early 2017 with a completion date estimated for around late 2019.

As of March 2023 the Ritz Carlton project in downtown San Diego has been officially cancelled. Please read more here.
